Congratulations to CS Velo Racing athlete Sean Gardner on setting the USA's Everesting record today! In case you're wondering what "Everesting" is, it's climbing the height of Mt. Everest as fast as possible (29,029 feet of elevation gain) in a single activity. Sean set the USA's record and was only minutes away from setting a world record.
"50 laps of a 13% climb starts to get to you after a while. Started out well and was right on world record pace for the first 4 hours. At 5 hours in I hit a bit of a rough patch and started to bleed some time. I tried to recover towards the end but had lost a bit too much time."
Sean is understandably upset about missing the world record and is contemplating a second attempt at it while today's results are pending. Join us in congratulating Sean for this monumental effort!
